How to Change Your Perception of Life

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
– Nelson Mandela
If you want to live a happier life, you have to learn how to change your perception of life.
When I started changing my perception of life I realized that when you change the way you look at something, what you look at… changes!
If you prefer watching instead, here is the video
Before I begin let me tell you about a hero who inspired me to change.
Do you know who Nelson Mandela is?
Nelson Mandela was a leader in South Africa. He was fighting against the white rules. And he served 27 years in prison for that.
And do you know what he said? That he finally found peace in prison.
While other prisoners were seeing walls, Nelson Mandela was seeing stars from his window. He was physically in prison but his mind was free. He changed his perception.
He said, “It always seems impossible until it’s done!”
If he did that you can do it as well.
And do you know why?
Because you have one thing in common… You are a human.
But you should ask yourself how did he do it.
The Key to Transform Your Perception of Life: Self-Image
The first thing to do if you want to reach that level is the self-image.
How you see yourself is the foundation of life.
Did you notice that in my previous posts at the end, I tell you to always love the way you are, that you are unique, you are you?
And I will always finish like that because it’s important to remind you that all the time.
Don’t let anyone tell you who you are. You need to start to have a good self-image of yourself. This is the key!
You can’t build something strong enough if the foundations are not solid.
Even if you have things destroyed inside you, it’s a part of your story. You have to accept your story. Your scars are your story.
Don’t think that it’s hard to do that because…
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
Understanding the Inner Self
When I say “self-image” I am not talking about your physical self. And I’m sure you are beautiful and perfect from the outside. But what about inside?
I’m talking about how you see yourself in your mind. It’s an important question to ask yourself. How do I see myself in my mind?
I remember that when I was young my family did not teach me how to express my emotions. It was actually not really allowed to cry. And I think that a lot of people are feeling the same.
But later I understood that even if you are sensitive, you can do amazing things. Because if you start to understand your emotions in yourself and others, you can be able to manage your behaviour and relationships.
So live your emotions, don’t hide them. The only thing you need to do now is to understand them.
Don’t judge yourself. Understand yourself.
Don’t be mad at you. Respect yourself.
It’s time to give yourself some love.
When I understood that, I started to change my perception of myself. I started to love who I am.
You must not forget to always love who you are. You are unique. You are you. You can do it, trust me.
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
Changing Your Environment to Change Your Perception of Life
Also, take a moment and try to analyze these people who are dragging you down. I think it’s a way for them to express their sadness.
The way they want you to be is not the real you.
When I understood that the problem was not me, I started to change my toxic environment.
And this is the second thing you need to do if you want to change your perception of your life – change your reality.
The environment is very important because these people can give you false information about you and you can start having a false self-image.
Cultivating Healthy Habits
So changing your self-image and your environment is a good start but to really change your perception you need to do something else – create new healthy habits.
And we will learn how to create new habits in another post.
The post for next week will be about the power of positive thinking that will help you build a good self-image for yourself and your life.
Remember…
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
Sharing is Learning
Yes, I had a bad environment before. But I want to thank these people today. These people are a blessing for me because look at where I am today. Talking to you about something that I am really passionate about.
And I will keep posting about what I have learned. Because sharing is making me learn more.
So, like me, if you want to learn… share!
Finally, and most importantly…
Never forget to always love the way you are. You are unique. You are you.
Don’t forget to pin this post for later.
